Non-alcoholic recipe

Blueberry Rosemary Aurora

Blueberry and lemon lead a violet highball, with a measured culinary rosemary infusion and soda giving a restrained botanical finish.

Ingredients

  • 75 ml chilled pasteurized blueberry juice
  • 25 ml fresh lemon juice
  • 30 ml chilled rosemary-water infusion
  • 15 ml 1:1 simple syrup by weight
  • 45 ml chilled soda water

Preparation

Steep 2 g washed culinary rosemary in 250 ml water at about 95°C for 5 minutes, strain and chill. Prepare simple syrup from equal weights sugar and water; cool. Shake 75 ml blueberry juice, 25 ml lemon juice, 30 ml rosemary infusion and 15 ml simple syrup briefly with ice. Fine-strain into a highball over fresh ice, add 45 ml chilled soda water and stir once. Garnish with a lemon wheel and three blueberries.

Glassware

Highball glass over cubed ice

Garnish

1 lemon wheel and 3 blueberries

History

Blueberry, rosemary, lemon and sparkling water appeared in published mocktails before this draft, including a reported 2024 restaurant drink. The Mixology version uses pasteurized blueberry juice and measured rosemary-water infusion; no exclusive flavor-combination claim is made.

Mixology View

Rosemary is easier to specify as a culinary infusion than the held juniper recipe, but it can still overpower berry. Keep the infusion light, the lemon fresh and the soda cold. This is a reasoned desk assessment, not a taste test.

Ingredient note

Use food-grade culinary rosemary only. This version does not contain juniper, essential oils or aromatic bitters.
