History
Joaquín Simó created Naked & Famous at Death & Co in New York in 2011. The bar's own published recipe identifies mezcal, yellow Chartreuse, Aperol and lime in equal ¾-ounce measures and no garnish. Simó described the idea as a cross between the equal-parts Last Word and Sam Ross's Paper Plane, placing it in a distinctive modern lineage: a smoky agave base with herbal sweetness and bittersweet citrus. Creator, venue and date are supported by the originating bar rather than later hearsay.
Mixology View
Its precision is its personality: four equal measures and no decoration. Yellow Chartreuse and Aperol are not merely interchangeable categories in the documented original, although our ingredient list allows clearly marked equivalents.
